The truth is that, those attractions were merely the manifestations of deep need of engagement. Engagement to experience, engagement to learn, engagement to interact with curiosity and with the feeling of discovery of a new found planet.
Remember that constant search of an outlet to channel that unlimited human energy.
This was an attempt to balance the world 'within' (the psychological, physiological & the biochemical ) 'and' the world outside, that was unfolding in front of our eyes like peels of onion...and we were crying, laughing, running, falling down and then running again.
I visited the tomb of the "unknown" soldier in Moscow so many times, but in the recent years, I keep thinking of all the teachers we remember and also the teachers we have forgotten. They were all unknown soldiers of peace ✌️

2 cups of coffee & hello Sunday!
And so my mind races in a different direction this morning. Saw a post on LinkedIn about Albert Einstein giving a lecture to a group of mainly African American students from 1946 (as claimed). In my view the picture tries to portray him as a saviour type personality who was against racism of all sorts. It's also mentioned that he was criticized by his peers for conducting that session.
While I am absolutely against any racism in any form for anyone. I have a fundamental issue about using history / past events as a tool to prove/validate viewpoints. It's like proving a mathematical theorem where we already know the outcome. I have read parts of Albert Einstein's travel diaries on BBC and History Channel etc. So there are some questions around his beliefs based on his documented comments.
This deeply relates to the entire "CONTENT" engineering issue that we see today and which we will see more and more, in an extremely divided, post COVID19 world.
Black lives matter and infact all lives on this planet matter, but we have to examine and differentiate between propoganda and truth, even when we are fighting racism.
There is no denial that, for the last 50+ years or more, we could have done a lot more as humanity, on many fronts such as racism and economic disparity. Especially in wake of technological progress we have witnessed. We have to keep asking questions, questions on content that we consume, questions on our 'unquestioned' beliefs, question on the default patterns that we have been programmed to think 'like' , etc. etc.
Irrespective of answers or no answers. Keep asking the questions! Because we are HUMAN because we ask questions!!

Hello Juvenis!
June comes from the Latin Juvenis which also means young or youth. I have been working with few young people for most of my 'May'. There will be many reasons for remembering May 2020 but there is one biggest and single SAD reason would be the loss of my ABBA. The fact I couldn't be there will be a life long regret. Rest in peace father.
Walking into June, I will continue to work with the young people and will try to make it more fun and effective. So far have filled up 60% bandwidth with free projects.
Writing down some ideas today and tomorrow so I can execute.
June also has to be the defining month in terms of how will I operate for the next few months /possibly this year until we get out of this crisis.
Here is wishing the readers a great June 2020, stay strong, stay original, stay organised and stay optimistic!
More later!

Day 51
So yesterday was day number 50 of me stranded in Dubai due to coronavirus lockdown.
I spent yesterday's morning thinking about, what 5⃣ things these 50 days have taught me..๐
1. Plans don't always go as planned. That is true for travel and for life.
2. You cannot have a perfect life but you can have perfect moments, infact many perfect moments in each day.
3. Fear is an effective mask remover and truth revealer.
4. Reality, Disease and Death are only words until you are up close with them. The good news is HOPE, KINDNESS and COMPASSION fall in the same category.
5. Your time (while you are alive) and your content (while you are alive & when you are dead) are few of the most important things. Very few amongst our species value them as much value as these two deserve.
I wish ALL of us Strength, Belief and HOPE.
Happy Ramadan to all those observing.

The Power Of 10!
Jack Ryan/ Facebook
Couple of years ago when I started seeing Amazon original 'Jack Ryan' series's on big billboard advertisements across streets of many cities, I did take notice. I generally don't watch or read fiction but I have had an on and off exposure to Tom Clancy. He died the same year, in 2013, when I moved to South Africa. Moving to South Africa changed me in more ways that I can write about, but those stories are for, few separate posts (book!). Coming back to Tom Clancy, I watched most of his writing/work through Hollywood movies based on his novels. His novels supplied the central plot/content for blockbuster movies like; The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears and many more. I watched all of these movies on VHS cassettes during my youth when I was living in Moscow between 1995-2003. These movies were great stories, however I think the post, cold war era and the ongoing transition to democracy after the collapse of soviet union provided an additional fertile ground to popularity of the move plots.
For a man who loves his (and other's) one liners and quotes, Tom Clancy's “An overnight success is ten years in the making.” in his New York times best seller book Dead or Alive, naturally caught my attention a decade ago.
I kept coming that and similar quotes over the years. The other quotes and writing on the same subject (of mastery) are below:
- The 10,000-Hour Rule, which Malcolm Gladwell explains in his book Outliers and says that key to success in any field, is simply a matter of practicing a specific task that can be accomplished with 20 hours of work a week for 10 years.
- “All overnight success takes about 10 years.” Jeff Bezos.
- “Overnight success stories take a long time.” Steve Jobs.
The above information and my journey (of last 25 years starting from the day I left my Mumbai at an age of 17 years) supports the same theory of mastery in any field of business or life. In this articles associated video (1 minute & 48 Seconds) I have answered a similar question by a young man about how much time does it take to be successful professionally.
Thanks for reading!
P.S. English is the second language of this young man-and hence the subtitles.

The Monday Musafir Ramblings...
Hello Monday, Again!!!
Today's morning blabber has been documented here ๐ #GyaanByKhan (fb.me/gyaanbykhan)
....I jumped around too many topics
---typical me!!! Lol ๐๐๐

At the end of this short post you will find link to the video I mentioned.
We can call it, Education on air, or Education in the cloud or anything else, the fact of the matter is, that, digital life is here! So is digital learning, digital schooling, digital everything!!
I would confess that I never anticipated this so quickly....but Bill Gates and few other people did! (Watch an episode called 'Pandemic' on Netflix series - Explained) ..... I like to listen to Bill, because he makes sense...the next question that I anticipate from many of my friends is:….would I have heard Bill that much, if he was not the wealthiest man in the world [this may not be true today...but I stopped following that list long ago :) ] ....regarding my thoughts on Bill Gates and his influence on my life....in some other blog post...some other day!
OK coming back to digital education...I spent an hour listening to Jennie Magiera at 4 AM {already a fan of hers!! what an awesome HUMAN!!!] and another hour pondering about many things during current #coronavirus situation, and then couple of minutes on #Facebook Live plus talking to my nephew, (and a friend) in India about how they teach 5th to 10th graders in Mumbai........so obviously my investment of that time had to 'translate' into some kind of content!๐

There are many words evolving ….one such term is social distancing which is necessary today, but then I think, what if, social distancing becomes a norm tomorrow...and I totally get it....that 'what if' might...immediately evoke negativity, and I am not hoping for it, but would want us, as a species, to be prepared for that rare probability, because that preparation will only lead to one more thing ....and that thing is called #learning ....and more learning is a journey in itself!
I want to learn more about the learning process of humans....so if you find anything interesting, drop those in comments or just tweet me. Thank you ๐ in advance.

Are you READY for your OWN SUCCESS?
Most startup failure statistics are intimidating to say the least. The successful startups do get a lot of airtime across print and digital media alike. And that’s fair enough, because those publications, like us, as humans are always looking for stories of success. A success story that was achieved by overcoming something or solving something or helping someone.
My last few years of research on successes and failures of startups, led me to many articles, case studies and books; and at the end of all of it I can personally precipitate this in the following points (poeents! ๐) in no particular order including some HINDI puns!
- Raising funds too quick. เคจोเค เคा เคฎाเคฒिเค เคฌเคจเคจे เคे เคฒिเค เคเคธे เคเคฎाเคจा เคญी เคชเคก़เคคा เคนै ๐
- Pride, Arrogance. เค़िंเคฆเคी เคंเคก เคนै เคซिเคฐ เคญी เคเคฎंเคก เคนै!
- Wrong, inadequate Mentorship-advice — Drowning Buffalo — เคเค เคญैเคธ เคชाเคจी เคฎे ๐
- Short Motivation, Focus, No Clear Methodology — Frogs!-เคिंเคฆा เคฎेंเคข़เคों เคो เคคเคฐाเคू เคฎे เคคौเคฒเคจा เคाเคซ़ी เคฎुเคถ्เคिเคฒ เคนै ๐ธ
- All dreams and data but no specific expertise — เคซเคฐ्เค เคเคฐ เคซ़เคฐ्เคी เคฎे เคเค เคฎाเคค्เคฐा เคा เค เคจ्เคคเคฐ เคนोเคคा เคนै ๐
I also read an interesting “startup postmortem” study by CB insights which summarised 20 reasons why startups fail. [Sample size 101 startups, published in November 2019]
They are below:
Image credit Article ** “Since many startups offered multiple reasons for their failure, you’ll see the chart highlighting the top 20 reasons doesn’t add up to 100% (it far exceeds it).”
The main ones I personally feel are of greatest importance are the five below.
- Market. No market need, poor business model and mistiming.
- Team. Not the right team.
- Marketing. Poor marketing.
- Product. Poor Product quality and/or execution.
- Customer support. Ignored customers.
In my ‘hard’ [เคाเคซी เคเคฐोเคก़ เคกूเคฌाเคฏे เคนैं ๐] experience of many failed and few extremely successful startups, the key is, if you don’t fall for the five above, you are much more likely to succeed…
And in the end, the things that will differentiate success from failure are motivation (purpose) mentorship/advice/consulting, commitment, focus, effort (execution), continuous improvement and untiring preparation of success. (WATCH VIDEO)
Best of Luck!
